Welcome to the Website of Information Systems and Value-based Business Process Management
In a digital world, questions located at the intersection of customers, processes, and IT become increasingly important. Companies must be able to sense changes in customer needs immediately, to address these changes with digital products and services, and to release these products and services to the market without any delay. On the one hand, this requires risk/return efficient, transparent, and IT-supported business processes. On the other hand, IT must play an innovation oriented role in the design of digital products and services, which is not only about cost savings, but particularly about additional revenues and strong customer relationships.
The team of Information Systems and Value-based Business Process Management therefore focuses on topics at the intersection of customers, processes, and IT within the context of digital transformation. As for value-based business process management, we investigate how process decisions can be made in line with economic principles, how processes can be industrialized and digitalized, and how BPM capabilities can be developed. With respect to customer relationship management, we are interested in how digital technologies can be used at the customer interface and how digital multichannel strategies can be planned. Regarding strategic IT-Management, we conduct research on how to manage (digital) transformation projects and how to design operating models for modern bimodal IT organizations.
